Job Description

  • Location: Canberra or Sydney
  • Position type: 2 position available – Permanent and 12 month fixed term contract

Your new role

As a Procurement Business Partner, you’ll lead complex procurement activities and act as a trusted advisor, working across the full lifecycle from sourcing and tendering through to contract management and post-award support. You’ll partner with leaders and teams, adapting your communication style to suit different audiences and helping stakeholders make well-informed commercial decisions.

This role requires someone who is confident working through complexity and ambiguity, able to bring stakeholders together, define issues and deliver outcome-focused solutions.

You’ll also play a key role in strengthening supplier management practices, embedding consistent approaches to contract management, renewal planning and governance, while maximising value from external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement across sourcing, tendering and contract management
  • Provide practical, outcome-focused commercial advice to stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies aligned to business needs
  • Lead supplier negotiations and manage key commercial outcomes
  • Manage tenders and ensure contracts align with CSC governance
  • Build strong supplier relationships, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement

What you’ll need to excel

  • Over 5 years’ experience leading end-to-end procurement activities within a complex environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, business or another discipline relevant to procurement and contract management, or an equivalent combination of experience and training, including a Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting or higher
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a practical approach to problem-solving and building strong relationships
  • Strong commercial acumen across pricing, negotiation and risk
  • Experience managing supplier relationships
  • Knowledge of technology categories (cloud, SaaS, cybersecurity, infrastructure, licensing)
  • Knowledge of procurement-related legislation applicable to superannuation industry and Australian Government
