This is an opportunity for a commercially minded, analytically strong professional to play a key role in shaping CSC’s strategy and business performance through data-driven insights. 

In this newly created role within the Strategy and Business Insights function, you will work across the organisation to understand performance, investigate complex business questions and translate financial, customer and operational data into insights that inform strategic decisions. You will have exposure to senior leaders and strategic priorities across CSC, working alongside Finance, Data & Analytics and business teams to move from analysis to action.  

For someone coming from a financial or professional services background – superannuation, Big 4, strategy consulting, banking, corporate development, financial analysis, or a similar analytical environment, this is an opportunity to broaden your experience from analysis and advisory into enterprise strategy and decision-making. 

What you will be doing  

• Partner with CSC's Data Analytics and Finance teams to source, interrogate and interpret enterprise data and financial information. 

• Investigate complex business questions and use structured analysis to identify trends, drivers, risks and opportunities across strategic priorities, including customer attraction, retention and business performance. 

• Analyse financial, customer, operational and market information to understand the drivers of business performance and develop actionable insights. 

• Monitor market trends, sector developments and the competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities, risks and areas for improvement. 

• Develop financial models, cost analyses, forecasts and scenario assessments to support strategic, commercial and operational decision-making. 

• Support strategic planning and execution by translating enterprise priorities into measurable outcomes and tracking progress. 

• Develop and enhance dashboards, reporting tools and performance measures that provide meaningful insight for executives and the Board. 

• Prepare high-quality papers, presentations and decision materials that distil complex analysis into clear findings, implications and recommendations. 

• Build trusted relationships across the organisation, working with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenge assumptions and influence outcomes. 

• Support the Strategy and Business Insights team on priority strategic projects and emerging business issues as required. 

Specific duties, deliverables and reporting lines may vary from time-to-time depending on business needs and priorities. Key objectives and measurements will be captured in the Performance & Development planning cycle, established annually and adapted as needed.  

What you’ll bring with you   

• Tertiary qualification in economics, finance, data science, business, commerce or a related discipline.  

• Experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, finance, business performance, analytics or a related field.  

• Strong financial modelling, forecasting, quantitative analysis and market analysis capabilities.  

• Ability to work with complex data and business information, identify the key story and translate analysis into clear, practical recommendations.  

• Strong commercial curiosity and judgement, with the ability to connect business performance, customer outcomes and financial and operational drivers.  

• Experience investigating complex or ambiguous issues, testing assumptions and developing evidence-based recommendations.  

• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex analysis into clear papers, presentations and recommendations for senior stakeholders.  

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong capability in data analysis and visualisation.  

• Ability to work collaboratively with data, analytics and finance specialists to define business questions, source and interrogate data, and interpret outputs.  

• Strong understanding of business performance, strategic planning, customer outcomes and enterprise reporting.  

• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and build trusted relationships across diverse business areas. 

What would make you a superstar for this role  

• Postgraduate qualifications or additional training in analytics, finance, strategy, business intelligence, data science or a related field.  

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar data visualisation tools.  

• Experience using Python, SQL or similar analytical tools.  

• Experience in superannuation, financial services or another regulated industry.  

• Experience developing insights, analysis or recommendations for executive, committee or Board-level audiences.
