About the role
As the Senior Case Officer you will work in the Reconsideration Services team undertaking Case Management for a range of reconsideration requests for all CSC administered schemes. These will include complex and critical cases such as death and invalidity claims, as well as various superannuation benefit related matters.
Key responsibilities
- Managing an individual caseload, performing full investigations and applying the relevant legislation in all matters and providing thorough communication with customers throughout the entire process
- Compile extensive information and draft papers on behalf of the Committee’s and Panel
- Liaise with other areas of the business to ensure a smooth process is experienced by the customer, whether it is prior to, or after a case has been finalised
- Contribute to the team in both seeking and providing guidance, looking for efficiencies and assisting in additional tasks where required
What we’re looking for
- Australian Citizen with the ability to hold and maintain a baseline security clearance
- Knowledge of the schemes administered by CSC or capability to develop the knowledge
- Excellent administration and communication skills, with the ability to condense data and communicate in a clear, simple and effective way
- Adaptability and ability to prioritise managing multiple cases and priorities at a time
- Resilience and customer services skills, with the ability to guide our customers throughout the entire process with empathy and understanding, managing sensitive matters in a professional and effective way
- Capability to understand and apply superannuation legislation, regulations and guidelines
- Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
- Case management experience (particularly carrying out case assessments related to invalidity/death benefits). Experience in superannuation and/or insurance claims is highly regarded, but not essential
