About the role
As a key member of CSC’s Communications team, the Social Media Channel Owner is responsible for delivering engaging, compliant, and data-driven content across CSC’s owned social platforms initially LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
This is a hands-on role, balancing content creation, paid campaign execution, acquisition and follower growth, and reporting to ensure social channels contribute to CSC’s acquisition and retention goals. The role combines creative storytelling with analytical rigour, requiring someone who thrives on execution — writing posts, briefing design, optimising campaigns, and producing actionable insights.
The Social Media Channel Owner will refine CSC’s social media strategy and activity while developing and executing a content and campaign calendar and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure CSC’s channels are engaging, consistent, and effective.
Job Description
Key responsibilities
Content creation: Write, edit, and schedule posts across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, ensuring all content adheres to CSC’s tone of voice and brand guidelines. In addition, manage and update Google Reviews and Bing as required.
Acquisition and follower growth: Deliver activity that grows CSC’s social presence and follower base across all channels, with a strong focus on LinkedIn. Explore and test LinkedIn marketing opportunities to build reach and engagement.
Paid campaigns: Plan, execute, and optimise paid campaigns across LinkedIn, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and YouTube, providing evidence and rationale for budget requests.
Channel mix (owned/earned/paid): Execute an integrated approach across CSC’s owned channels, amplify earned opportunities, and deliver paid campaigns that support acquisition and retention.
Thought Leadership amplification: Partner with the Media Manager to promote and amplify thought Leadership content on LinkedIn, ensuring CSC’s executives and subject matter experts are positioned strongly.
Calendar management: Build and maintain a proactive calendar that integrates BAU, campaigns, and events.
Design collaboration and agency management: Brief and review or develop creative assets with internal design input and external suppliers as required and manage agency partners where appropriate to support delivery.
Analytics and reporting: Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, conversions, follower growth), produce regular reports, and translate data into actionable insights.
Strategy refinement: Support the ongoing development of CSC’s social media strategy and process, ensuring activity contributes to retention and acquisition.
Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with colleagues across marketing, growth, and brand teams including design, digital and product to source content and align activity as well as manage sign off and approvals.
Community management: Advance CSC’s playbook and reply to strategies, respond to comments/messages, and manage complaints in line with regulatory and compliance frameworks, including clear escalation processes.
Future channel considerations: Provide input into the potential adoption of new platforms (e.g. WhatsApp, Reddit, Product Review) as relevant to CSC’s customer audiences.
Specific duties, deliverables and reporting lines may vary from time to time depending on business needs and priorities. Key objectives and measurements will be captured in the Performance & Development planning cycle, established annually and adapted as needed.
