Job Description

Your new role

As a Lawyer/Law Graduate, you will be part the General Counsel (GC) Team which provides high quality, business-focused legal services to support CSC’s business objectives. With the support and supervision of a Senior Lawyer, Manager and/or Special Counsel, y ou will be responsible for the provision of a broad range of in-house legal and compliance services to CSC’s business areas.

We are seeking a Lawyer/Law Graduate to work primarily within the Commercial and Investments functional area within the GC Team. However the successful candidate may also have opportunities to work across the following other functional areas of the GC Team: 

  • Compliance and Regulatory; and
  • Dispute Resolution and Casework,

through short term rotations or as business needs require.

Please note: we are seeking candidates based in Canberra, with a requirement to work in the office a minimum of three days per week.

What you need to excel

  • A law degree, admission or eligibility for admission in the ACT, or nearing completion/admission (for Law Graduate)
  • An openness to constructive feedback, with a growth mindset
  • Ability to proactively manage a varied workload, to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • A team player who partners and engages effectively with other team members to achieve business outcomes.
  • A solid academic record
  • Due to the nature of CSC’s business and industry, ideally you will be agile, driven and commercially-minded
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
