About the role

As a Senior Systems Engineer at CSC, you'll play a critical role in the reliability, security, and performance of our enterprise IT infrastructure. Working across both on-premises and cloud environments, you will help lead initiatives such as cloud migrations, zero-trust implementations, disaster recovery testing, and full-stack security uplifts.

We are looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced, security-sensitive environments, brings hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (including Entra ID, Defender, Sentinel, Intune, Key Vault), and demonstrates leadership in automation, monitoring, and compliance.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and support on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure systems, with a focus on uptime and performance.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and implement proactive alerting mechanisms to detect and respond to issues early.
  • Manage virtual environments such as VMware, including performance tuning and resource allocation.
  • Support the administration of Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity services.
  • Perform regular system patching, updates, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues—individually or in collaboration with other teams through to resolution.
  • Provide escalated support for high-priority or complex incidents.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
  • Contribute to infrastructure capacity planning, helping anticipate future requirements and scalability needs.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend hardware or software improvements.
  • Apply and enforce access controls and security configurations to protect infrastructure assets.
  • Work closely with information security teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, change history, processes, and best practices.
  • Use or develop automation scripts to assist with repeatable administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Follow Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches where applicable, using established templates and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members, assisting in their development and training.

Specific duties, deliverables and reporting lines may vary from time to time depending on business needs and priorities. Key objectives and measurements will be captured in the Performance & Development planning cycle, established annually and adapted as needed.
